ELECTRIC TRACTION

ELEN is registered in the RFI supplier register for design, construction and maintenance of railway electric traction systems.

With specialization and expertise, it realizes traditional 3 KV DC systems, 25 KV AC traction systems, as well as 750 V DC systems for the transportation of subway lines, trolleybuses and streetcars.

The fleet of rolling stock consisting of more than 20 units including locomotives, ladder trucks, trolleys, trailers, concrete mixer wagons and recovery wagons provides a solid base for carrying out work in the following areas: foundation block construction and laying of poles along the line; renewal of overhead lines; laying of power line conductors (overhead or underground).

ELEN’s flexibility also ensures emergency work on failure; a system for temporary support of “M” type poles has also been patented for this purpose.

MAKESHIFT POLES

ELEN technical staff studied and followed the approval process of an innovative system for “emergency” contact line rehabilitation.

The particular ease of assembly and transport of temporary supports for M-type poles proved to be particularly advantageous in both technical and economic terms, not only in emergency response but also in many works that involved phased development of the system, avoiding the construction and subsequent demolition of fixed temporary works.
